I was inspired by the joined dolls that have been found at ancient temples and in young children’s graves from ancient Persia, Egypt, and Rome. While its difficult to say such creations were played with as the surviving one are often made of fragile or expensive materials like clay or ivory, such dolls are regularly found in archeological digs at ancient temples. Mine has a more keeps with the idea while also featuring some more modern toy parts and modern depictions of women. She also has removable heads and alternates between human, snake, mushroom and orchid.

I learnt the lost wast technique of metal pouring for this piece and had a really fun time creating the wax but a hell of a time cutting out the metal. As it turns out I am allergic to bronze and broke out into rash after sanding it and had to leave it with a rougher finish than I would have wanted.
