I had a lot of variation in colour, as the nickel plate would let go of tarnish while I was rubbing off the excess ink. The trick was to wipe as efficiently as possible, to keep the see-though nature of the ink and create the illusion of glass like visibility. At the time of creation I was very unhappy with the print thinking I could wipe the ink more effectively and with less tarnish but looking back I think it was a very effective in its intention and I would never use nickel for this mix of ink.
