Rowyn Hand painted silk moth wings, a halloween costume. Hand cut with and sewn with a rolled hem, Created the pattern and concept with the help of a friend. Took a week to paint multiple layers of a dye with thickening agent and let it dry and cure. I then rinsed it in setting agent. There are metal hangers re-bent to create the extension of the wings beyond my finger tips. it took up the whole available floor space of my home and some when painting, a lovely project but best done in the heat of summer for a fast dry time.
